Have you noticed that most of us are much heavier and obese than what our elders used to be in the 40’s 50s or 60s? Have you noticed that how awkward we look in the mirror while dressing up for a wedding and wished we were slimmer as we used to be in our teenage life??
Recently I became disgusted at myself for growing a monster pot-belly and having difficulty tying my shoe lace or picking up “pingpong” ball while playing table tennis….. Where did our Princely stature go?
Lately we are seeing some premature deaths and disabilities in our family those can be directly related to lifestyle issues.
There are mainly two reasons for our lack of healthy body:
1. Availability of ample rich food and uncontrollable intake ( Murag Polao; Kheer; Paneer etc etc);
2. Lack of exercise (and time/desire to do so).
Hayat and Maut is in Allah’s hand. But until then we should live our life in a healthy manner. After all our health is an amanat.
I found an interesting article on NY times (posted as comment due to lack of space on the Gupshup section) which I believe will answer to your lack of time for physical activities to keep in shape….Enjoy and lets get back ourselves to Prince Charmings and Princess Cinderellas !!
BTW: I am still open for some biryani or kashmiri Chai, I will be honored of your invitation!
