  4. unknown Says:

anas mia can you please also include transportation services. school bus.

  5. unknown Says:

    NO Cricket this yr?

  6. Arshad Says:

    Dear Unknown-
No point of paying $700 to school bus when 90% of the participants takes their own car. Furthermore, bus driver run on strict schedule which makes everyone to leave at around 5 where the sun sets after 8.
Not to take bus was decided by us (Anas, Fardeen, Shahadat, Nadeem and most of the other NBs agreed). Doing so, per head contribution was calculated to $10/$12 from $20.

About cricket, it takes pretty much most of the time during picnic and becomes unfair to the ladies who spend whole day running after the kids.

We are substituting Criket with Hockey. Also, there will be badminton tournament for the couples which will allow all of us to have great time. We used to spend most of the day playing sports since that was the only day in whole year we got toghther to play our loved sports. Now, we play hockey 3 days a week and that deminishes the desire to play at the picnic.

For children, there will be more games and face painting etc to motivate them to look forward for the family gatherings in the future.
Saniya and I have decided to organize all the children related games whereas Shahadat will arrange the badminton tourney.

Others who will be bored, will be entertained with Karam board and Lodu.

We are also planning to have better lunch menu along with very popular charcoal barbequed hotdogs.

I want to keep morning menu as a pleasent surprise, when you will be there you will find out.

Hope to see you there, you dont want to miss this event which will be more fun than previous events due to more volunteer participants instead of whole burden taken by Anas.

Hope I was able to clarify your question by justifying the decisions.

    Arshad

arshad mia shoaib saahab is absolutely correct. thier are alot of people who will not be attending the picnic because of transportation. why? because they dont have a car and there is no way that the mta or long island railroad will work out. so therefore i urge anas mia to ask everyone about the bus, transportation and ask the all the families if they will be driving or planning to take the bus. because it really makes no sense at all of doing if most of the families will not be attending because of transportation. the main purpose of doing the picnic is for all the nawabbarian’s to get together. and if most people will not be attending the picnic because of transportation then i think there is no point of doing it.

  9. Syed Shahadat Says:

Talal we all r missing u, specially your free phone card .

  10. Nana Bhai Says:

Arshad bhai i completely agree with you. There is no point of renting the bus for $700 when few families want to bring their own cars. Also, it sucks when the bus driver wants to leave at 5 when maghrib is at 8:30. However, i also agree with Chote Khwaja. I think there are more families this year with out cars than there are with cars. Therefore, i think the bus is necessary. If we dont have the bus this year then a lot of ppl are going to miss this anual event. After all, picnic is not just having fun at the picnic spot but the ride there is part of picnic too( just a thought). Obviouly we can’t fit everyone in the bus. We do need the private cars. Maybe ppl who need a ride can cotact the organisers and work something out. Nonetheless, looking forward for the big day. last year was 6 this year its going to be 12 flags. MORE FLAGS MORE FUN. lol

  11. Arshad Says:

I understand all of your concerns, but we just found out due to the hike in gas, they have increased the bus rental to $1200 which will increase each members budget by $40 (plus 10/12 per head currently). I dont know if everyone will be willing to pay for additional $40.
Now, we are planning to have Carpool system. I am sure we will have enough rooms for all of us to get to the Picnic. There is No WAY I will go to picnic if I see any of the member is not going due to transportation issue.
What we need from you is a list of people who doent have transportation. This way we will be able to assign empty seats. Also, we have allowed some non-nawabbarians friends of yours to join the picnic if they are the only medium of transportation for you. This doesnt mean that everyone can bring non-NBs. Just to clarify, we have no issue with Non NBs except that it will become too hectic for us to arrange for all foods, drinks, events for 300+ people ( each and everyone has atleast 1 family friends who wants to join).
Please try to understand from the budget prospective and help us finding an alternate solution if you have.
    REgards,
    Arshad

  12. zainab Says:

once again the annual nawabbari picnic is here.. only a few more days untill the picnic.. the anticipation is killing me.. the cheerleaders are going to in full form to cheer for the hockey and badminton games..

to the guest from canada.. u guys are about to witness the best picnic ever..

  13. chote khwaja Says:

ARSHARD MIA DID YOU JUST SAY IF WE RENT A SCHOOL BUS IT WILL COST AN ADDITIONAL $40 PER PERSON? BECAUSE IF YOU ADD $40 PER PERSON ACCORDING TO ANAS MIA 150 PEOPLE ARE GOING TO THE PICNIC SO IT’S 150X40=$6000 SO YOU ARE TRYING TO TELL ME IT WILL COST $6000 FOR THE BUS AND FOOD? IS GAS AND FOOD THAT EXPENSIVE THAT FOR 150 PEOPLE BUS AND FOOD WILL BE $6000 WOW.
