April 7, 1888, A tornado caused severe damage to Ahsan Manzil — Andar Mahal, the older part of the palace, was completely devastated. During the reconstruction of the Andar Mahal a good part of the palace was overhauled and repaired, and the exquisite dome of the present Rang Mahal was added.


April 26, 1895 Nawab Khwaja Habibullah is born.


14 and 15 April 1906 Nawab Khwaja Salimullah organized the ‘East Bengal and Assam Provincial Educational Conference’ and, he was chosen its president at its first convention at Shahbag, Dhaka.


April 11-12 1914 Nawab Khwaja Salimullah  arranged a convention of Muslim Education Conference of united Bengal and the Muslim League Convention on 13 April. Right after this, he practically retired from active politics.


April 129 Sir Percival Griffiths, I. C. S. was appointed Chief Manager of the Dacca Nawab Estate.


1922 April, Sri Ramani Mohan Chakravorty Bholanathji of Vikrampur, entered the service of the Nawab of Dhaka and arrived at Shahbagh along with Ma Anandamay
