Let me introduce myself. I am known in the family as Arshad- the first son of late Kaniz Fatema, daughter of Nawabzadi Khurshidi Bano and Khwaja Moazzam. I have a sister named Reshma from my own father and a brother named Qais from my mother’s second marriage. My Grandfather and my Father were the Pir Saabs of Paribagh.

 

I see my mother’s name in the family tree.  She expired 2 years back.  May be you can put late with her name.  And add me in the list.

This is Saaria Hossain, daughter of Late.Hatif Hossain from Dhaka. 

How are you? Hope everything is going well. I often do visit your website; you guys have done a great job. I really appreciate what you have done for the whole Nawab family. 

Anas I have one little complain regarding my father’s identity, uploaded on 22nd feb. 08.  There is written that he settled in Nawab Bari after he got married but this info is wrong. I agree that his FATHER was from Bhagalpur but He was the Nawasa(grand son) of the Nawab Family. Here I have mentioned the family tree please have a look at it.

He belongs to the Nawab Family and every senior member of this family knows this.

I have two boys now, Zain is 4 and Aaron is 6 months old. I’m attaching a photo of the two of them and will send you some more family pics. Let me know where the family tree is on the website as I wasn’t able to locate it.

Summer in New York…

On a much lighter note, apart from the “Shady Deals” below, summer is beautiful in New York and today was a beautiful day — 72 F(24 C approx) with a light breeze. I spent last night playing ping pong with my cousins Anas, Arshad, Fardeen and Shahadat until for 4am this morning and went to my aunt’s(Zari phuppu) place in the afternoon for a barbecue–the first this summer.

Later came home and found this song on Youtube. I would like to dedicate it to my sister Ayesha and all my cousins, aunts and relatives with the same name…

Shady Deals in Nawabbari

We, the residents of Shahzada Mia Lane, would like to bring to your notice that crooks have been actively involved in selling land belonging to members of the Dhaka Nawab Family. They have been duping innocent beneficiaries of Nawabbari by manufacturing fake deeds and documents. This has been an open secret in Nawabbari for quite some time now, but the poor innocent residents of Nawabbari haven’t had the courage to confront these thugs. These thugs recently sold the RIVER VIEW CLUB for a huge sum of money.

We, the residents of Shahzada Mia Lane out of concern for our neighbors and brethren in Nawabbari have posted the following two posters, listing the names of the involved culprits:

Amina Iftekher (Mina) honored by Grameen Phone

Amina Iftekher (Mina), daughter of Homyrah Sultana & Iftekhar Hussain was awarded Long-term Service Award by Grameenphone. The award giving ceremony was held at Dhaka Radisson Water Garden Hotel on 24th April. The award was handed over to Mina- Deputy Manager -Customer Service Division by Anders Jensen the CEO of Grameenphone Limited. Here is some pictures from the award ceremony. 

 

 

Obituary : Shahed Salahuddin

Shahed Salahuddin son of Gholam Gairat Mohiuddin died of chronic illness yesterday in Brooklyn New York. Innna lillaihe Wa inna ilaihe Rajeun.

Mr Shahed- the owner of Pioneer Neon Sign in Dhaka was sixty years old.

He left behind wife Salim Huq, two daughters Nasim Sahar,Soni Salahuddin and son Sakeb Salahuddin.

All the family members in New York were present at eldest daughter Nasim Sahar’s Brooklyn residence.

His Namaj e Janaza will be held at Jamaica Muslim Center in Jmaica Queens today 8am.

Relatives from Toronto including younger brother Salim, K.M.Zafar drove from Toronto to attend the Janaza.

He will be laid to rest at Coram, Long Island (Exit 63 on LIE IS 495).
